A toothache without the tooth?

I've got a really annoying pain in my mouth that feels exactly like a toothache, except there's no tooth there anymore. It's in the place where my lower right wisdom tooth used to be.

Fortunately, I'll be seeing a dentist tomorrow. I hope he can tell me what the hell's going on.

When that happened to me, in the exact same location, it was from eating crusty bread. I swore the tooth was growing back though!

That's actually what I thought it was until yesterday, when it started hurting REALLY bad instead of just sorta bad. Still might be that, but I'm gonna ask the dentist anyway. Thanks, though. :)

I should add that it was the dentist who traced it to the crusty bread. It hurt too much to just let it be.

Maybe like phantom limb pain? Or an irritated nerve. Or infection. BOL.

I'm hoping it's just an abrasion that's hurting because it's healing. We'll see, I guess.

I'm sure the dentist can root around and find something...
